How to Hire a Doctor π¨ββοΈ(or a Marketing Agency)
One thing to look for when hiring a doctor (or a marketing agency): Do people follow their own advice?
If your doctor is telling you to eat right, is he or she significantly overweight?
In the marketing world, I get to work with dozens of companies and agencies.
And people often ask me βwhat do I look for when hiring a marketing agency?β.
The simplest answer is: Are they practicing what they preach?
If they try to sell you an email marketing campaign, are they doing email marketing?
If they try to sell you SEO services, are they doing SEO well? If not, why not?
This morning, I got a spam email from a company selling ads and funnels. They sell ads and funnels but use spam email to generate their own clients? Doesn’t add up.
Across Analytive and my other projects, we have Facebook campaigns, email marketing (mostly automated), weekly newsletters, ABM targeting, funnels, social media posting, blogging, and display ads all running.
And weβre constantly tweaking them.
Why? Because itβs important for me to practice what I preach. I want to have skin in the game.
I donβt want to recommend clients services that I donβt believe in. And if I really believe in it (and if it really works) then I should be using it! I’d be foolish not to!
Before you work with an agency, see if they practice what they preach. If not, be cautious.
