Steal Your Users
Whether you are building a website, a product, or an app, getting your first users is tough. Where do those first few users come from? How do they find you?
The answer is simple: You steal them. You steal them from your competitors. You steal them from other platforms.
Now I’m not talking about doing anything underhanded here. I’m not talking about hacking websites or being dishonest. I’m talking about finding where your users exist and then drawing them into your own website.
Some of the biggest brands today used this exact same strategy. They found where their potential uses existed and did everything they could to get in front of them.
Did you know that AirBnB used this exact strategy to grow their user base? They found users on Craigslist and drew them to platform.
