Funnels Part 1
But if you’re not familiar with it, it can sound crazy.
What really is marketing automation and how can it help your business?
Marketing automation allows you to offload the bulk of your work to software tools.
Let me give you an example:
Say you sell on online course. You want to get people to buy the online course, so you start advertising.
Most businesses expect the sales path to look something like this:
Rarely will a customer make a major purchasing decision when presented directly with an advertisement.
Instead, they’ll likely need to research it more, find out about competitors, and ask you questions about your program.
Now imagine you could work to address all of those questions automatically? How would that change your ability to market?
What if you could give your whole sales pitch and follow up without ever needing to send an email from your own inbox?
How much time and effort would it free up for you?
The answer: probably a lot.
That’s where marketing automation comes in. Marketing automation allows us to build a funnel that looks something like this:
- First, a customer sees an ad. They click on the ad and get taken to a landing page.
- Then they enter an email address and fill out a form.
- Over the next few days, they get sent a series of emails. These emails talk about the benefits of the product and how it could change the customer’s life.
- Finally, they get sent an email with a clear discount code or call-to-action.
Here’s the cool thing: all this happens automatically.
It’s like you have an army of robots doing your marketing while you sleep.
In this example, you’re not sitting behind a computer typing emails every day. You’re also not posting new ads every day. You post ads once, write emails once, set up landing pages once, and the software does everything else.
That’s marketing automation.
And it’s easier than ever to implement this in your business. We’ve done many funnels like this for ourselves and for our customers.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll talk about some common email automation funnels that you can set up your own business.
I won’t exaggerate when I say that building the proper funnel may be the single biggest benefit to your business. Your ROI could be huge.
