Do you remember Where’s Waldo?
Growing up, we had a couple of those “Where’s Waldo” books. Remember those?
Waldo (a dude with a red striped shirt and beanie) was hidden among a couple hundred random people and things.
Did you find him? I did. It took me a minute. He’s in there.
Just like a “Where’s Waldo” puzzle, your audience (potential buyers) exists in a massive sea of people.
There are billions of people online. Just in the US, there are hundreds of millions. If you thought the Where’s Waldo puzzle was hard, wait until you try and find the right people in your marketing.
Fortunately, platforms make it much easier. Using interest, job, demographic, and other data, you can put together some killer targeting that can be a game changer for your business.
Do you need to reach the affluent who love to be outside? Done.
Do you need to reach mid-level managers in companies between $50-$100 million in revenue? Done.
Do you need to reach people who love Corgi butts? Done. (This for real used to be a targeting option on Facebook.)
The point is your audience is your Waldo. Before you think about what to show them, you need to figure out how to reach them.
Until Next Time,
