Pizza Hut Failed Me πππ
Iβm currently sitting in the airport waiting to board a plane. Prior to sitting down, I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat.
The Caribou Coffee in the terminal line was long – to say the least.
But tucked away in a corner was a Pizza Hut.
Interesting…Pizza Hut for breakfast?
As I walked up to the counter, I realized something: The only items they are selling are sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches.
For lack of time (and out of sheer curiosity), I ordered one.
The sandwich and coffee were “meh” at best.
But what happened toΒ Pizza Hut? No breakfast pizza? No ultra-cheesy-stuffed-crust breakfast calzone? I mean, pizza is literally in their name!!!
I get it, they pay for space at the airport and want to make money at all hours including breakfast.
But if youβreΒ Pizza HutΒ you donβt do that by selling breakfast sandwiches.
You do it by selling breakfast pizza. Or breakfast calzones. Or some fruity-pizza-pastry-thingy.
Now I just had a βmehβ experience with Pizza Hut. They decided to sell me something that wasnβt good. It wasΒ off-brandΒ for them. And it leads to a bad experience for me.
If I could talk to the manager of this Pizza Hut, Iβd just want to tell them βItβs OK to be you!β
Chick-fil-a has chicken breakfast sandwiches (that are amazing, btw). Qdoba has breakfast burritos (also very good).
Pizza Hut has breakfast sandwiches. WTF?
Pizza Hut should create and own the breakfast pizza marketplace. But instead, they settled with crappy biscuits.
So my question to you: where is there an opportunity to grow your business andΒ just be you? What new niche can you build where you have something unique to offer?
If youβre Pizza Hut, donβt offer biscuits. Offer pizza.
